About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Woodlawn, MD, Zauq Halal Kitchen offers a vibrant fusion of halal and fast food flavors that delight both the palate and the soul. This inviting eatery stands out with its extensive menu that caters to those seeking authentic halal dining without compromising on the crave-worthy comfort of American classics.

From the moment you step in, the atmosphere melds casual ease with attentive service, making it a perfect spot whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed dinner. The aroma of freshly cooked chicken and spices wafts invitingly through the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience.

Zauq Halal Kitchen’s menu is a celebration of bold, satisfying flavors. Signature dishes like the Big Box Gyro Wrap and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich demonstrate their mastery of both traditional and contemporary tastes. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich delivers a slightly milder take on the classic hot chicken, featuring a crisp batter and tangy coleslaw layered on a soft bun—offering robust flavor without overpowering heat.

For those craving variety, the Rice and Salad Combo with Lamb over Rice provides a heartier, aromatic option, pairing tender lamb with fluffy, seasoned rice and fresh sides like chickpeas and corn. While some diners have noted the rice could benefit from a bit more seasoning, the quality of the meat and thoughtful combination make it a solid choice.

Snack enthusiasts will appreciate the Loaded Fries, generously topped with a special house sauce, vegetables, and a unique blend of chicken and lamb that adds depth and richness beyond traditional loaded fries. Several patrons rave about this dish’s harmonious balance of crispy, creamy, and savory elements, making it a must-try.

Breakfast lovers aren’t left out either; the Breakfast Burrito offers a flavorful start to the day, packed with halal meats and fresh ingredients, wrapped in a soft tortilla. Complementing your meal, the juice selection and the smoothie spot inside the restaurant provide refreshing options that balance indulgence and health.

Don’t miss the desserts, especially the Red Velvet Cake, which has won over customers looking for a sweet finish without artificial additives—paired with the restaurant’s commitment to offering high fructose corn syrup-free sodas, it reflects a thoughtful approach to dining.

What truly sets Zauq Halal Kitchen apart is its welcoming staff and consistently positive customer service. From Mr. Sam’s exceptional kindness to the friendly team that ensures orders are always accurate, the personal touches make guests feel valued and eager to return.

Overall, Zauq Halal Kitchen delivers a vibrant dining experience that confidently bridges the gap between halal authenticity and fast food convenience. Whether you’re savoring the spicy chicken sandwich or enjoying a filling combo, each bite conveys care and flavor in equal measure. Affordable prices, diverse menu options, and a warm atmosphere combine to make this Woodlawn gem a destination worth exploring.

It says halal , so it’s a good place to eat halal and fresh food well food is quite tasty , orderd loaded fries and as per the price , size of the platter was good , ordered fried chicken and that was cooked pretty well deep inside but the type of loaded fries I ate and I prefer is not the like this (shredded chicken and cheese) it was crispy wedges with veg toppings, melted cheder cheese and white cheese with crispy chicken bit size …. But it was good too as no other restaurant offer loaded fries , ambiance is good and pretty clean

COULDN’T EATING IT! My order was for the Nashville hot combo with and a 1/2 & 1/2 order of loaded . Here’s my breakdown of the 3 items. : 4.2 of 5.0 * Bun and slaw were very tasty. Sandwich lacked the seasoned hot oil you see with a traditional NHCS. The crisp on the batter was on the lighter side. The chicken breast itself lacked a sort of signature spice that would let you know that’s it’s not plain chicken. : 4.7 of 5.0 * Onions tasted fresh, had a light batter and had good flavor. If I’d been able to eat them there they likely would’ve been higher. : 4.9 of 5.0. If you come with the expectation that the fries will have any crispness to them like I did you’ll be disappointed. BUT if you let that part go you’ll have a really good experience. I’m sitting here regretting AND NOT regretting how much of those fries I ate. There’s a little sweet, a little savory, a subtle spice then that smooth potato flavor. The store is bright, open and inviting. There are some drinks in there that I haven’t seen before but look interesting. The staff was courteous and friendly which is RARE in this zip code. The group that came in after me were greeted like old friends and I feel like that’s a consistent theme with the level of service that I received. I’m 100% coming back here. I’m 100% getting these fries again. The people behind me ordered and it sounded like that wasn’t their first time trying them here. I think I may also try the . Nice work and thank you Hauk

Service was nice, and there were plenty of seating spots. The spicy chicken sandwich was amazing, easily one of the best I have had. The chicken and lamb platter was just okay; the rice could be more flavorful and the portion of meat felt small. Prices were great and very affordable. There is also a smoothie spot inside the restaurant, which is a nice bonus. Overall, if the platter matched the quality of the sandwiches, this place would easily be a 5-star spot. But those chicken sandwiches are seriously next level!

This was my first time, Mr Sam gave excellent customer service, and kind. I chose the old bay wings and loaded French Fries. Chicken was on point! I really loved the loaded Fries with their special sauce, especially bc I don’t like lamb. They mix theirs with chicken, lamb and veggies and their special sauce that made it everything! Thank you Mr Sam for a nice experience

I love this little food spot. It has a good selection of halal and American (I think) food and it’s all pretty good! They staff are always kind to me and my order is always right. Their cakes and high fructose corn syrup free sodas are one of my favorite. Definitely check this place out!

We ordered takeout from Zauq Restaurant in Maryland, and the food did not disappoint! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-packed.
